Winter in St. Anton
am Arlberg

As soon as the first snowflakes fall, we can feel that tingling sensation in our legs and yearn to finally get out on to the piste again. We are not alone in feeling this enthusiasm. St. Anton am Arlberg is known the world over as a snow sports paradise, with skiers from Austria to Australia coming to enjoy its many attractions.

Few resorts in the world can match the breath-taking beauty of our mountains and the vast diversity of the ski area. The Arlberg offers 88 cable cars, gondolas, and chairlifts, providing access to 305 km of groomed pistes. It is a hot spot for freeriders, who are attracted to the almost unlimited, deep snow off piste. Your lift pass covers 8 villages: St Anton, Stuben, St Christoph, Zürs, Lech, Schröcken, Warth, and Sonnenkopf. Apart from Sonnenkopf, they are all now connected by ski lifts.

The Arlberg in winter is however much more than just skiing. Whether you are a gastronome, seeking fine dining, or just enjoy simple Tirolean treats in mountain hüttes, the Arlberg has something for everyone.

Need exercise, but not downhill skiing? Professionally prepared cross-country trails lead into idyllic Verwall valley or along the Rosanna river, while there is a circular course in St. Christoph am Arlberg, which is ideal for fitness or training. Snowshoes, or just walking, are wonderful ways of enjoying the snow-covered mountains and forests.
